IEEE India Council ,currently Chaired by Dr. Sivaji Chakravorti, is the umbrella organisation which coordinates IEEE activities in India. Its primary aim is to assist and coordinate the activities of local “Sections”, in order to benefit mutually, and avoid duplication of effort and resources. IEEE UP Section is one of the most active sections of IEEE India Council. It is the controlling body of all types of IEEE related activities in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. The Uttar Pradesh Section is located in Region 10 and is represented at the India Council. The Section was formed on 11 May 1992. It has witnessed a continual growth and has also, expanded its reach by establishing new Student Branches in the past few years.
